President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at March 18 Martyrs’ Day and 103rd Anniversary of Çanakkale Victory held at March 18 Stadium and Martyrs’ Monument in province of Çanakkale yesterday (March 18).
Making statements about Afrin operation, Erdoğan said:
“I’d like to share a good news with you. Afrin city center was taken under control by TAF (Turkish Armed Forces)-supported FSA (Free Syrian Army) members at around 8:30 a.m. this morning. Now Turkish flag and FSA flag are flapping there. Turkey has once again shown all the world that it sides with the oppressed”.
DHA: FSA units have started to enter Afrin
According to Doğan News Agency (DHA), FSA members started to enter Afrin through its southwest in the early morning hours yesterday. While the FSA forces advance, it was stated that booms and gunshots were frequently heard and TAF’s F-16 jets flied over Afrin. (PT/TK)
