President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted the Islamic World NGOs Union at the Presidential Palace.
In his speech afterward he touched upon the extradition of Fethullah Gülen.
Erdoğan briefly spoke as follows:
Extradition of Fethullah Gülen to Turkey
“We are asking the US, aren’t we strategic partners? Isn’t there an extradition [agreement] between us? We didn’t ask for documents when you wanted terrorists from us. We delivered those terrorists right away based on the extradition agreement.
“Now we are asking you to hand us a terrorist, giving him to us is subject to the extradition.
“Let us try him. There is no meaning in prolonging this. The developments in our country at this point are heading in a much more different direction”. (AS/TK)
