Galip Ensarioğlu, Justice and Development Party's (AKP) Diyarbakır MP in the 24th and 26th parliamentary periods, and a candidate for MP running again under the AKP in the May 14 elections in Diyarbakır at first rank, talked to Medyascope about the claims that the government has sent delegations to PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan where he said, "the state is always talking to Öcalan."
"When Öcalan wants to contribute to the solution, if he wants to contribute to the unity, integrity of Turkey and for this armed conflict to come to an end and if the state believes in this also, such talks will be continued."
The long-term AKP politician claimed that it is the People's Democratic Party (HDP) and Qandil (referring to the leadership of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) which is designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, and also the US and the EU) that hinders any such initiative by Abdullah Öcalan, the long-time imprisoned leader of PKK.
"However, today who rules out the conditions for this is HDP itself, Qandil itself," said Ensarioğlu and he added, "So who is condemning Öcalan to isolation is not the state. Who is condemning Öcalan to isolation is Qandil itself, it is HDP itself. Those who caused the solution process to fail, those who sabotaged it, those who caused the role Öcalan was playing to fail are again the same ones."
Bozdağ: "Technical teams go there"
During a program he participated in CNN Turk, the Minister of Justice, Bekir Bozdağ also replied to a question on if there has been any talks held with Öcalan. Bozdağ responded to the question by saying, "They are lying. What they are telling, that they have documents in their possession is that technical teams go there sometimes of course. They are twisting the work carried out in relation to such an assignment. They are taking one work, a technical assignment, the letters related to this and using them saying they have met with Öcalan."
What happened?
Journalist Amed Dicle had claimed, in a statement made to the Yeni Yaşam daily, ""the government held talks on the İmralı island but was not able to get the answers they desired, after which the isolation on Öcalan was worsened, giving him a disiplin penalty. Indirect contact was searched with Qandil."
Selahattin Demirtaş, the former Ex-Chairperson of HDP imprisoned for seven years now had also stated that the claims that the government has sent delegations to meet Öcalan on the İmralı island was confirmed by his sources.
The Good (İYİ) Party leader Meral Akşener had also told journalist, "They have sent a judician who went there changing his/her name." (RT/PE)
