“This is not a disaster at any point. No excuses for the mining company,” said Energy Minister Taner Yıldız after the mining company in Ermenek district called the trapping of 18 workers as a “natural disaster”.
Yıldız made the following comments during a press conference with Transportation Minister Lütfi Elvan.
Yıldız said exactly the following:
“If it was flooding due to rain, we could call this a ‘natural disaster’, whenever there is not a natural disaster, there is human fault. Whoever has the fault, we will know by the end of judicial investigation. We have focused on saving our workers trapped inside but we will respond to this kind of statements later on.” (ÇT/BM)
