S.E., a teacher in the northeastern province of Trabzon, has been suspended for allegedly throwing eggs at PM Erdoğan’s convoy.
The incident took place as PM Erdoğan was on his way to a trip on November 23. Police authorities detected that the aforementioned egg was casted from the balcony of a building in Cumhuriyet Street.
S.E. has been detained for egg-throwing suspicion and transferred to a court. The court released her pending trial.
Education Ministry authorities have reportedly suspended her until the end of investigation.
Former harassment convict assigned to teaching
Şeref Çalışır, former education ministry administrator in Istanbul’s Fatih province, has been convicted of “sexual abuse and harassment”. He allegedly kept his post during the course of investigation, as he appealed to the verdict.
The plaintiff Ç.A., on the other hand, has been replaced.
According to Radikal newspaper, Istanbul 50th Assize Court ordered Çalışır to serve 8 years 1 month and 15 days of prison.
Yesterday, though, he was assigned to a teaching position by Istanbul Education Ministry authorities.
Çalışır reportedly submitted a retirement statement as soon as the assignment was made. (EKN/BM)
