Istanbul- Nilgun Unur (22), student: Even if we had an election, the new government would not be any different from the current one. The same people will continue to govern this country, and I will continue to remain indifferent.
Siirt- Bayram Isiktas (64), retired: A new coalition government would come out of an early election again because the votes get divided. That is why an early election would not change anything.
Istanbul- Murat Oto (36), tradesman: My brother committed suicide because of the economic crisis. Which government or which party could I have trusted in anymore? I don't even want to hear their names.
Siirt- Yasar Gunduz (14), student: I support an early election so that I can have a better future. However, I never thought of which party I would vote for, because I have never voted before. Maybe I would vote for the Felicity Party (SP).
Istanbul- Umran Bulan (35), self-employed: State minister Kemal Dervis brought up These early-election discussions. I would never vote for a "representative of the United States" like himself. I quite like Tansu Ciller for what she has been doing in politics. I would describe myself as pro-Ciller.
Istanbul- Arzu Isiklar (34), tradesman: An election could have a negative effect on the economic stability and lead to new price increases. Every single party in the parliament has been given a chance. I am thinking about voting for the Liberty and Solidarity Party (ODP), Ufuk Uras's party.
Siirt- Abdullah Soyler (56), retired: I do not have faith in the members of the parliament anymore. We should have held an early election long ago. I will vote for a party that would stop the profiteers and the impostors. That party in my opinion is the Republican People's Party (CHP).
Istanbul- Serhat Demir (24), unemployed: I support an early election thinking that if would help draw the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) out of the parliament. I will again vote for the left-wing parties. But to be able to be successful, they need to enter the elections in collaboration.
Istanbul- Hasan Kaya (37), unemployed: I am happy with the current government. I don't support an early election. I would never think of voting for a party other than the Democratic Left Party (DSP).
Siirt- Can Dirikolu (40), officer: In my opinion, an early election is unnecessary. Elections could destroy the economic stability in the country.
Istanbul- Mukaddes Dundar (40), self-employed: I think of not the early elections but of what I will cook tonight. I work so hard that I don't even have time to watch the television. But if we have an early election, I would vote for Mesut Yilmaz. I had a chance to see him closely once and I have sympathy for him since that day.
Istanbul- Kadir Oran (45), computer scientist: I really get angry when I think about politics and elections. I will vote for every party on the ballot. It will be void but it's better than voting for nobody.
Siirt- Hifzullah Emiroglu (49), province director of the Association of artisans, craftsmen and other self-employed (Bag-Kur): There has to be an early election because the public does not trust the ones in the parliament anymore. I will vote for a party taking into consideration the general condition of the country.
Istanbul- Kubra Coruh (19), student: I support an early election because I think that the government has to change. It will be my first time voting. I will decide on which party to vote for according to their election campaigns.
Istanbul-Riza Kara (32), tradesman: I am not happy with the current government but an early election would damage the economy. I will take into consideration the opinions of the leaders and not the parties when I vote. I don't engage in partisanship.
Istanbul- Erdem Kayit (22), veterinarian: I would only vote for someone whose opinions are in accordance with mine. But there hasn't been anyone like that up to now. I am not interested in the election discussions. I would support a party with a mature leader who takes the youth into consideration when making decisions.
Istanbul- Aliye Gurbuz (25), student: I Want an early election so that MHP can be drawn out of the parliament. The economy will take off due to the promises made during the elections period, but the new government will not be any different from the current one.
