Karaköy-Kadıköy ferry has been delayed for 15 minutes due to a dog abandoned by its owner or owners.
The incident took place at 6:40 p.m. on January 2, 2017.
Trying to get on the next ferry after the people who abandoned him, the dog was blocked by City Line staff.
The passengers reacted against the staff as they couldn’t get on the ferry for a long time.
In response to a suggestion to bind the dog with a rope or wire, the staff telling it might be dangerous suggested to call Municipality personnel.
However, animal rights defenders wading in mentioned the possibility that the dog may be put to sleep in case the Municipality was called.
While it was stated that the dog was abandoned by its owner, who went to Kadıköy with the previous ferry, another allegation was that its owner gave the dog to his/her friend and that person went to Kadıköy by ferry.
Following the wait that lasted over 15 minutes, Burhan Demircan known as “Burhan Pazarlama (Burhan Marketing)” doing sales on ferries in İstanbul for over 40 years showed up and took the dog away with the food he brought. (EKN/TK)
