The 3rd Documentary Photography Days organized by Photography Foundation will be held between May 20 - June 12.
The event will bring together photography projections, panels, book presentations, portfolio evaluations and workshops with the audience.
140 photography works of more than 100 photographers and collectives will take place in eight sections.
The works to be presented this year are subsumed under 6 different themes: “Rebellion”, “Opinion on the Run”, “Woman”, “Those Beside Us”, “24th Country” and “Human Who Destroys”.
Under these topics, works focusing on social events, contemporary photography, the concept of refugee, woman, nature massacres and individual stories will be presented. Besides these, in the sections “Open Call” and “Last Session”, works of documentary photography will be displayed.
This year the Documentary Photography Days happens to pass on Batman province too in April and aimed to share its content with photographers and audience from various regions of the country. Following the İstanbul program, the second stop will be province of Mersin in June. Before the end of 2016, it plans to visit Adana, Ankara, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, İzmir and Mardin and expands its visit in cooperation with photographers and photograph organizations out of İstanbul.
The events which all are free will be held in Salt Galata and Galata Fotoğrafhanesi. It will begin with the exhibition at Galata at 7 p.m. on May 20.
