Ali Avcı, a producer of one of Justice and Development Party's (AKP) propaganda films, "Chief" (Reis) and the director of "Awakening" (Uyanış) has been taken into custody.
The detention order was issued as investigation was launched into Avcı on charge of "being a member of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization".
Avcı was taken into custody from his house in Bağcılar district of İstanbul in an operation carried out by units from İstanbul Security Directorate Anti-Terror Department.
According to the reports on media, Fethullah Karabiber, a suspect standing trial with a warrant to be taken forcibly to give testimony as a part of the Yıldız Technical University investigation before İstanbul 25th High Criminal Court, was staying with Avcı in his house in Bağcılar as well.
Director Ali Avcı and Fethullah Karabiber were taken into custody and were brought to the police station together. (EA/DG)
