The director and the model who had been taken into custody after a fashion shoot at a mosque in Ankara were released on probation after appearing in court yesterday (August 15).
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had announced earliear yesterday that E.C. and B.K., under investigation for taking photos at Kocatepe Mosque in Ankara and sharing them on social media, have been taken into custody.
The statement by the prosecutor's office had stated, "Based on investigations conducted on written, visual, and social media publications, it has been determined that an individual named Bilal K., a director, took photos of a woman at Ankara Kocatepe Mosque and published them on social media, leading to the initiation of a criminal investigation under Article 216/3 of the Turkish Penal Code for 'publicly insulting religious values that a section of the public adopts'."
The Ankara Governorship had also announced that both criminal and administrative investigations have been launched regarding the footage.
