As dihaber correspondent Erdoğan Alayumat, who was referred to Hatay Courthose after being detained during news coverage at Hatay-Syrian border over a “suspicion”, has been arrested, another dihaber correspondent Nuri Akman has been released on probation.
Alayumat and Akman were sent to 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace for arrest on charges of “being a member of an illegal organization”, “aiding and abetting an illegal organization”, “engaging in collaborative activities on behalf of an illegal organization”, and “making Republic of Turkey’s confidential information public”.
According to dihaber, rejecting all accusations Alayumat said that all activities are related to his occupation.
Akman also rejected the accusation and stated that he was in Hatay for journalistic purposes.
The court ordered arrest of Alayumat on charge of “Making State’s Confidential Information Public for Political and Militaristic Purpose” and it released Akman and imposed international travel ban.
