Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporter Nazım Daştan has been released.
Arrested on charge of “propagandizing for [illegal] organization”, Daştan has been released in the first hearing held by Antep 2nd Heavy Penal Court, the agency reported.
Daştan was taken into custody as he was heading home in Antep province on February 10. He used the right to remain silent in the police station.
He was arrested due to his Facebook posts, and then sent to Antep H Type Prison.
Daştan had recorded video of Turkish Armed Forces soldiers with Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) members on the borderline.
DİHA’s 11 reporters are still imprisoned: Nuri Akman, Feyyaz İmrak, Mazlum Dolan, Ziya Ataman, Meltem Oktay, Muhammed Doğru, Bilal Güldem, Mehmet Hakkı Yılmaz, Abdulkadir Turay, Nedim Türfent, Şermin Soydan.
Trial of DİHA reporters Meltem Oktay and Uğur Akgül who is pending trial without arrest will be heard tomorrow (June 24). (NV/TK)
