There are two video footages below.
June 8, 2018 - Kadıköy, İstanbul
June 24, 2018 - Esenler, İstanbul
The first video was recorded in the district of Kadıköy in İstanbul on June 8, 2018.
The second one was captured in Esenler, another district in İstanbul, on June 24, 2018.
In the first incident, a group of high school students wanted to draw attention to the flaws in the education system of Turkey and held a demonstration. There were 20 of them, at most. In their hands, there were placards and banners, where they expressed their opinions.
In the second incident, there were neither placards, nor banners; and, most importantly, the police were not around. However, guns and bullets were in abundance; so was the rampage.
These two videos manifest the attitude of the state in Turkey towards the people living on this soil. It shows how the half of this country is repressed and oppressed while the other half is patted on the back.
What happened at the night of June 24 has already gone down into the dark sides of the history of this country. One day, we will perhaps learn what really happened on that night.
A note for what happened in the open: At the night of June 24, the sale of alcohol was forbidden, the tea gardens were closed; but, people were free to use weapons and it was called "new Turkey". (HK/SD)
