Taken into custody from his home last night (Deccember 14) by İstanbul Organized Crime Control Bureau Directorate teams, journalist and Yurt daily columnist Hüsnü Mahalli has been taken to Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Hospital after getting sick in custody.
Mahalli’s treatment is ongoing in the hospital.
MS disease and hypertension
After Mahalli was detained, attorney Turan Aydoğan on Halk TV live broadcast had said that Mahalli’s condition is not suitable for detention or arrest due to his medical condition.
Aydoğan stated that there are medicine Mahalli need to use for his MS disease and hypertension

Attorney Aydoğan noted that İstanbul Chief Public Prosecution launched an investigation and issued detention warrant after Mahalli’s words on Halk TV that “Terrorists are annihilated in Aleppo. I will explain tomorrow how this happens”.
About Hüsnü Mahalli
Mahalli is of Syrian Turkmen origin. He is a Middle East and political expert, academic, journalist and writer.
He was born in Syria’s province of Aleppo on May 23, 1949.
He graduated from İstanbul University School of Journalism. He did Masters in Department of Journalism and doctorate in International Relations at the same university.
