The suspect, who was detained on allegations of being a “suicide attacker” during an operation carried out against ISIS, murdered police officer Sinan Acar at the Istanbul Security Directorate on Vatan Street.
The attacker was killed by the police.
A person, who was suspected to be an ISIS member and a suicide attacker, was detained and taken to the Vatan Street İstanbul Security Directorate by two police officers last night at around 10:45 p.m.
The suspect assaulted police officer Sinan Acar as he was about to be taken out of the vehicle to be brought to the Anti-Terror Branch Directorate.
The officer was severely wounded in the assault. The police at the scene shot the attacker to death.
The police officer lost his life in the hospital where he was taken for treatment. (EKN/TK/LN)
