Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chairs, Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ have been summoned by Ankara Public Prosecution to testify by instruction.
Mersin and Midyat Public Prosecutions have notified Ankara Public Prosecution Instruction Bureau to have Demirtaş’s testimony with respect to four probes conducted on charges of “insulting” and “terror organization propaganda”.
Kayseri Public Prosecution has sent notice to Ankara Public Prosecution to have Yüksekdağ’s testimony who faces charge of “slandering public officer”.
Pursuant to constitutional amendment regarding lifting of parliamentary immunities, notice has been served on Demirtaş to testify by instruction within the scope of investigation launched by Mersin Public Prosecution.
He earlier said they wouldn’t go to testfiy
Two life-time jail term and 486 years in prison is being demanded for the HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş. Demirtaş earlier expressed that they wouldn’t go to testify.
HDP MPs Dirayet Taşdemir and Bedran Öztürk also have been reportedly summoned by Ankara Prosecution Office to testify.
HDP Muş MPs Ahmet Yıldırım and Burcu Çelik Özkan too were summoned to testify. (NV/TK)
