Justice and Development Party (AKP) President and Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoğlu has spoken at his party’s group meeting.
Davutoğlu spoke about issue of subcontracted laborer, which was one of his election vows as he said.
“Despite being among our vows, we’ve taken another decision for the sake of justice. Besides, we’ve agreed on taking the laborers working in ancillary work into public. So, there won’t be a single subcontracted worker left out. These people will continue to work in the same place”.
Law draft will be brought to parliament
Davutoğlu said they will bring the subject in parliamentary agenda via new law draft.
“We will take the laborers who are not entitled to pension after working either in main work or ancillary work into public as well. The laborers in question will continue to stay where they work along with their current salary”.
Davutoğlu had said “He is subcontracted but has a phone”
Davutoğlu in his speech gave the good news by saying “Hail to all of our laborers”. Nevertheless, he mocked a laborer who tried to tell him that he was being worked as subcontracted laborer by saying “He is subcontracted but has a phone” in October 2015. Upon the laborer saying its price is 40 euros (150 TL), Davutoğlu had said “Good. Price doesn’t matter”.
Subcontracting ends, does period of rental laborer begin?
On the other hand, the new law draft is being assessed as a new sort of subcontracting. The draft which laborer unions oppose passed in February 2016. If the draft enacted, the subcontracted laborers of today will be named as “rental laborers”. (HK/TK)
