The European Parliament has decided that 70 million Euros be cut back in EU aids to Turkey.
Last week, the Budget Commission had demanded that 70-million Euro aid be cancelled on the ground that Turkey hasn’t made progress in fields of democracy, rule of law and human rights”.
Commission’s demand was discussed in the General Assembly yesterday (October 2) and it was approved with 544 votes against 28. 74 MPs abstained in the voting.
It was stated that the aforementioned budget would be allocated to immigrating programs and Syrian policies. (ÇT/TK)
