Curfews have been declared in some villages and hamlets of Tatvan district of Bitlis province.
According to a statement by Bitlis Governorship, the curfews were declared in Teknecik, Sallıca, Dönertaş, Kısıklı, Suboyu Yumrukaya and Sarıdal villages to be in effect as of 6 p.m. on March 25 to have Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members captured and to restore public order.
Tatvan has 22 neighborhoods and 56 villages. Its population is 89,185. In 2014 elections, Fettah Aksoy from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) became the mayor. (NV/TK)
