The curfew in effect since March 14 in Şırnak has been partially lifted.
According to the statement of the Şırnak Governorship, the curfew will not be in effect between 5 a.m and 10 p.m as of today (November 14).
The Governorship has also noted that some planning needed to be done with regards to the arrival of those who were outside of the center of the city.
Tents were removed
The tents of those, who had to leave their houses due to the curfew were removed on order of the Governorship on October 25, 2016.
Şırnak Municipality co-Mayor Serhat Kadırhan talking to bianet on following the incident, had stated that the tent cities were being evacuated on the order of the Municipality yet that these people who had to leave were not being offered any means of accommodation and noted;
"They don't want that a place called Şırnak exists anymore".
Trustee was appointed to the Municipality
On November 5, 2016, Şırnak Vice Governor Turan Bedirhanoğlu was appointed to Şırnak Municipality as a trustee.
Şırnak Municipality co-Mayor Serhat Kadırhan was dismissed and Şırnak Municipality co-Mayor Özlem Onuk was arrested. (NV/DG)
