The curfew declared in six neighborhoods and one street of Turkey’s southeastern Sur district of Diyarbakır province on November 28 upon killing of Diyarbakır Bar President Tahir Elçi and two police officers, namely Ahmet Çiftaslan and Cengiz Erdur, has been lifted.

The statement by sub-Governorate reminded that curfew was declared in Cevatpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Fatihpaşa, Hasırlı, Savaş, Cemal Yılmaz neighborhoods and Gazi street as of 1 p.m. on November 28.

The statement noted that the curfew was lifted as 7 a.m. on November 30.
The committee including Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz going to the scene of incident to conduct inspections was caught in the conflict, and another police officers wounded. (HK/TK)
