The curfew which was declared on October 1 in Nusaybin district of Mardin province in southeastern Turkey has been lifted this morning.
It started in four quarters
Governorship of Mardin had declared a curfew in four quarters: Girmeli, Eskihisar, Tepeüstü and Kayadibi.
Clashes on October 1
Governorship announced five soldiers and a temporary village guard got injured during the clashes between Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the military on October 1 in Nusaybin district. A specialist corporal from gendarmerie, Hakan Öcalan, lost his life and a PKK member died.
Two civilians were killed
After the curfew was declared in Nusaybin, Şahin Turan (24) who was driving his motorcycle was shot dead on October 3. Ahmet Sönmez (51) was also shot in front of his house and died. Governorship of Mardin indicated nine illegal organization members were killed on October 3. (HK/BD)
