Curfew in effect since December 14, 2015 in Cizre will be limited to night-time between 5 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. as of tomorrow (March 2). The half-day-long curfew in Silopi has been shortened by 1,5 hours.
Şırnak Governorship has made the following statement on its official website:
“The curfew imposed in Cizre district of our province Şırnak in order to capture members of the terrorist organization, remove barricades and ditches trapped with explosives by the separatist terrorist organization and provide security of lives and the properties of our citizens, has been lifted for the day-time between 5 a.m. and 7.30 p.m, and will only be in effect from 7.30 p.m. and 5 a.m. as of March 2, 2016 Wednesday”.
Also new regulation for Silopi
The beginning hour for the curfew in Silopi district of Şırnak has been changed from 6 p.m to 730 p.m.
Minister of Interior Affairs Efkan Ala has stated that they have been conducting operations in eight districts.
Minister Ala has noted that the curfew had been continuing in four districts, and was in effect only for night-hours in Silopi, and all day long in Sur, İdil and Cizre.
Ala has noted that they have been determined to provide public order and added “also [operations are] about to be completed in Sur”. (AS/DG)
