After the conflict between soldiers and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members, curfew has been declared in Turkey’s southeastern Şapatan village and its arable fields of Hakkari’s district of Şemdinli.
Hakkari Governorship has stated in its website that curfew will be in effect from August 1 4 a.m. for three days.
As the reason of curfew, “to prevent terrorist actions that might happen, to neutralize the members of the separatist terror organisation, secure public order and peace, civilian safety of life and property” has been shown.
Entrances and exits to Altınsu village and its arable fields İncesu (Uzuntarla) have been banned as well.
One soldier killed, six soldiers wounded
One soldier has been killed and six soldiers have been wounded in the conflict between soldiers and the PKK yesterday (July 31).
Curfew has been declared in Çukurca and Yüksekova districts of Hakkari since the beginning of conflicts on July 24 2015. The curfew which was declared on March 13 continued until May 30. (EA/UA)
