Cumhuriyet newspaper's editor-in-chief İbrahim Yıldız left his post. He was working in the newspaper for 34 years.
Published on the newspaper's website, Yıldız bid farewell to his co-workers, saying that "it wasn't a goodbye but a flag change".

Previously, Murat Sabuncu was assigned as Cumhuriyet's chief editor. Ceyda Karan also became the world news editor. The newspaper also employed journalists like Aydın Engin, Özgür Mumcu and Ahmet Şık.
There was also a debate on the assignment of Engin with rumors that İbrahim Yıldız, Mustafa Balbay and Cüneyt Arcayürek took a vacation after the incident. Cumhuriyet Foundation made a statement that their executive board anonymously took the decision including Akın Atalay, İbrahim Yıldız, Güray Öz and Önder Çelik.
The allegations were also denied by Arcayürek and Balbay.
Following the announcement of new journalist, news editor Cengiz Yıldırım, econmy editor Hasan Eriş and World News Editor Özgür Ulusoy were laid off. (EA/BM)
