US Secretary of Defense, Ash Carter, has called on Turkey to improve the cooperation against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and put more effort in the control of its borders.
According to the Voice of America daily, Carter making holding a speech in the Senate Armed Services Commission has demanded Turkey to put more effort in controlling its Syrian border which he defined as “often porous” and criticized Saudi Arabia and Gulf States that they have concentrated on the war and thus paid less attention on the struggle against ISIS.
More help for Iraq
Carter also mentioned that the U.S. would better send more consultants and attack helicopters to help Iraqi forces aiming at retrieving Rahmani back from ISIS.
The U.S. Secretary of Defense has also announced that progress has been made in the war against ISIS yet no success has been achieved to control the organization. (YY/DG)
