Criminal Complaint against Violence against bianet Correspondent

Criminal complaint has been launched against police officers who threatened and attempted to handcuff from bianet correspondent Beyza Kural from behind as she was pursuing news.

Kural faced police intervention on November 6 as she was pursuing news of students being detained during protesting against Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

Undercover police officer saying “From now on nothing will be like before, we will teach it to you” was recorded by camera, and that Kural was attempted to be taken into custody by being handcuffed from behind.

Criminal complaint has been filed against the undercover police officer threatening Kural and other police officers.

The complaint petition included a demand for prosecution to be launched over determining suspects, willful injury, threat, use of force, and power exceeding.  (AS/TK)
