The crime scene investigation team going to where Diyarbakır Bar President Tahir Elçi was shot was fired on again, which makes it the third time.
The prosecution wasn’t able to carry out any examination at the scene where Diyarbakır Bar President Tahir Elçi was shot to dead on Saturday, November 28 due to conflicts erupting twice.

According to the news on newspapers, Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Gürkan Kütük, other prosecutors tasked for the investigation, the crime scene investigation team and the committee consists of Diyarbakır Bar representatives headed to Yenikapı street in Sur district where Elçi lost his life.
As the committee completed the examination, an attack with long-barreled weapon and hand-made explosives was launched by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members. The committee left the scene because of the conflict which broke out as security forces fired back.
Third examination attempt
In the incident in Turkey’s southeastern Sur district of Diyarbakır province, police officers Ahmet Çiftaslan and Cengiz Erdur, and Diyarbakır Bar President Tahir Elçi lost their lives while a police officer and an Anadolu Agency correspondent injured.
The committee including Prosecutor Solmaz going to the scene of incident for examination was caught in the conflict which left two police officers wounded.
Solmaz said they attempted to launch two exploratory operations but could complete none. (AS/TK)
