Acting upon Journalists Society of Turkey’s (TGC) application, 4th Regional Administration Court suspended the media entry ban in Istanbul’s Police Headquarters.
Following the corruption probe detentions on December 17, Istanbul’s Police Headquarters released a statement on December 22, announcing a country-wide media entry ban in police stations.
Later on, TGC filed a complaint to Istanbul Regional Administration Court for the suspension of the order.
“We are requesting the suspension of this media entry ban order considering the busy agenda in Turkey and worldwide in order to avoid unrepairable and uncompromisable damages according to European Declaration of Human Rights as well as related articles of Turkey’s Constitution, and Council of State and ECHR rulings,” TGC wrote in a statement.
