Appeal of Pastor Andrew Craig Brunson’s lawyer İsmail Cem Halavurt that house arrest and international travel ban against Brunson has been rejected. Brunson was moved to house arrest on August 25.
Çavuşoğlu and Pompeo will meet
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who said “not enough” referring to the decision of house arrest, will reportedly come together.
It is predicted that the two ministers will discuss the detainment of Pastor Brunson.
Pence reiterated “sanction”
In a statement made yesterday (July 30), US Vice President Mike Pence said, “We are ready to impose sanctions on Turkey until Pastor Andrew Brunson is freed”.
“We took transfer of Brunson to house arrest with joy. I spoke with both Brunson and his wife. Brunson wants to return home. Brunson should be freed and allowed to return to his home in the US”.
Trump also mentioned “sanctions”
Concerning the detainment of Pastor Brunson, US President Donald Trump declared that sanctions will be imposed on Turkey.
The US President wrote on Twitter:
The United States will impose large sanctions on Turkey for their long time detainment of Pastor Andrew Brunson, a great Christian, family man and wonderful human being. He is suffering greatly.
