The weekend-long curfew in the country began today at 9 p.m. (6 p.m. GMT) and will end on Monday at 5 a.m.
President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday (November 30) announced new restrictions, including a curfew on weeknights and a full weekend curfew.

The new measures came amid a new surge in Covid numbers with the Ministry of Health reporting all-time high cases and deaths day after day.
Today, the Ministry of Health reported 32,736 new infections, including 6,903 symptomatic patients, and 193 more deaths.
Medical organizations have advised a full lockdown to slow down the spread of the virus.
Some sectors, including production, supply, health, and agriculture, will be exempt from the curfews.
Supermarkets, grocery stores, butchers, and dried fruit shops will operate between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. over the weekend.
Bitlis
Bakeries will also be open during the weekend curfew.
Meanwhile, restaurants will only offer delivery service between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. (EKN/VK)
