DİHA intern correspondent Fırat Duymak and Mele Kasım Yiğit taken into custody in Cizre district of Şırnak province on claims of possessing explosives in their vehicles have been released.
MEYA-DER (Mesopotamia Assistance and Solidarity for Families with Lost Relatives) Botan Co-Chair Mele Kasım Yiğit and correspondent Duymak from DİHA (Dicle News Agency) who had been taken into custody in Turkey’s southeastern Nusaybin street in Mardin were taken to the District Security Directorate.
Evrensel daily Editor in Chief Fatih Polat had reported that Duymak had been taken into custody giving the explanation “We will show you around a bit”.
Duymak and Yiğit who had been stopped by police on claims of possessing explosives in their vehicle were taken into custody and released after completion of the procedures in the security directorate.
18-year-old Duymak, who had lost his father in the basement during the curfew in Cizre is a last year student at Cizre Industrial Vocational High School. As he could not go to school and continue his education due to the curfew in Cizre, Duymak had attended a training in Dokuz8haber and had started working as an intern correspondent in DİHA. (EA/DG)
