Deputy of Konya Province, Atilla Kart from Republican People’s Party (CHP) told bianet the progress of his individual application to Constitutional Court on grounds of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s “violation of right by using state force and public authority”
“This is vigilantism”
Kart stated that public opinion must follow the case persistently:
“Since 15August 2014 in Turkey there has been violation of right, even there is a coup. Constitutional foundations aren’t allowed to do their jobs. Turkey has been ruled by order and instructions unlawfully. The president blatantly says the system is suspending. Institutions are intimidated. This is the final chaos portrait of a country and her people. Opposition parties, the media and intelligentsia must tell all the people about this portrait. We try to tell this is vigilantism.”
Kart made a second application
On 3rd April, Kart applied to the Constitutional court for the first time.
Kart said that he requested the investigation to be made before the elections but he didn’t get any result and so he applied on 29th April for a second time.
“I applied for a second time to get result over my investigation request. I talked to justices’ chief executive. I was told my case was taken by reporter and they were waiting for the report to be completed. The report must have reached the delegation. If there is any progress, I will inform the public opinion."
“I emphasized when I applied for a second time. If the court delays more and more, the elections will be over and there will be dismissal of the case. I’d like to get results as soon as possible.”
Receiving votes unlawfully
Kart said in his statement after his first application “Since 15August 2014 the President has been abusing and exploiting state force, public authority and public resources”.
“Since this date, Turkish Parliamentary Speaker, 11th President, Supreme Court of Appeals Prosecutor's Office, Supreme Electoral Council and Prime Ministry including constitutional foundations and institutions are suspending. Partisan media, Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) and Turkish Radio and Television Corporation misinform the people. Erdoğan gives orders and instructions unlawfully.”
“These violations are made to receive votes illegally against the law on basic provisions on elections. I applied individually to the Constitutional Court in order them to investigate these violations and take necessary precautions.” (AS/BD)
