Founder of the Republic of Turkey and its firs President, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has been marked at Dolmabahçe Palace where he lost his life, Anıtkabir (Memorial Tomb) and in various places in Turkey.

Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) President İsmail Kahraman, Chief of General Staff Full General Hulusi Akar, Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Council of Ministers members, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahçeli, chairs of higher judicial bodies, commanders-in-chief of armed forces, representatives of political parties, bureaucrats and other state officials were in the cortege headed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the state ceremony at the mausoleum of Atatürk.
Minute of silence was kept at 9:05 a.m. in memory of Atatürk’s death on November 10, 1938 at 9:05 a.m.
President Erdoğan signed the Official Anıtkabir Memorial Book and wrote:
“We think of the great commander of our Independence War, father of our Republic, our first President Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on 79th year of his death with respect once again.
“We continue to work day and night to lift Turkey, which we see as one of the most important legacies Atatürk left for us, above level of contemporary civilizations”.
Dolmabahçe

"Respect for Ata" rally was held from Barbaros Boulevard to Dolmabahçe Palace with the flag made of 57 Turkish flags and 57 Atatürk posters in Beşiktaş, İstanbul.

The number of visitors of Dolmabahçe Palace increased due to November 10.
