Influential cleric Fethullah Gülen sent a tweet message, giving the signal that he is likely to sue former Hüseyin Gülerce - a former Zaman newspaper columnist who was known as the “spokesperson” of Gülen Movement.
“We are inviting H.Gülerce to court to prove his accusations. Even though it is so hard to face somebody at this age in court!” he wrote on twitter with the account @fgulen.
Previously, Gülerce was interviewed by Ahmet Hakan from Hürriyet newspaper.
“From the point I arrived now, I see two persons in him [Fethullah Gülen]. The first one is whom I love very much, don’t want to see him harmed and makes me feel hurt like knife stabs when he is insulted. And it still is,” he told Hürriyet.
“On the other hand,” he continued, “there is another person in the same body who does whatever needed to reach out his desired vision of Turkey with no limits. You can give your life to one of them. The other one is scaring you. I don’t wish to put a burden on him. But there are mistakes that I can’t bear in my conscious, principals and understanding of Islam. I see them all. I have mixed feelings.”
Summoned for statement, told about the separation
On October 24, Prosecutor Fuzuli Aydoğdu summoned Gülerce for his statement, allegedly asking him questions related to his tweet messages on November 25 Probe.
“I tried to stop it [the corruption probe raids started by Gülen Movement-affiliated police commissioners on pro-Erdoğan bureaucrats] and who ever didn’t so is a coward,” he continued.
Responding to prosecutor’s inquiry on the point of separation [between Erdoğan and Gülen], he also said the following: “The MIT crisis [halting of intelligence service vehicles loaded with ammunition on way to Syria] and insults to Erdoğan during Gezi Protests were the crucial moments. It is also December 17 and 25 Corruption Probe Raids as well as local elections. (EÖ/BM).
