On Monday night, dozens of PKK militia raided a Turkish Army headquarters in Çukurca on the far southeastern Turkey, leaving 1 soldier dead and 2 wounded.
"PKK militia orchestrated a tease fire on the Karataş Gendarmerie Headquarters located 8 kilometers south of Çukurca district. A wounded soldier lost his life," Orhan Alimoğlu, Hakkari province governor, said in a statement.
According to CNNTürk, Turkish Army retaliated the PKK group with artillery fire. A military operation has been launched briefly after the incident despite heavy snowfall. (AS)
