In an operation carried out in al-Bab as a part of Operation Euphrates Shield in Syria, four soldiers have lost their lives and 15 others injured in a clash with the militants from Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
According to Doğan News Agency (DHA) reporter Hasan Kırmızıtaş's report, clashes occurred this morning (December 21), in the center of al-Bab in an area which used to serve as a hospital and has been used as a shelter and munition depot by ISIS for the last 2 years.
Four soldiers lost their lives in the clash, 15 others were injured.
The injured soldiers were brought to the border zone and transferred to hospitals in Kilis and Antep by helicopters and ambulances.
Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) reported that the clashes continued locally and added that 40 militants from ISIS were killed.
25 soldiers killed
Within Operation Euphrates Shield launched by TSK on August 25, 2016 in support of the members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), 21 soldiers from Turkey have lost their lives so far.
With the latest developments today (December 21), the number of soldiers who lost their lives has risen to 25. (EKN/DG)
