In the press statement made at parliament, Republican People’s Party (CHP) Kayseri MP Çetin Arık with his daughter Tuğçe has spoken about the problems that the children with autism live in the field of education.
“My daughter wasn’t admitted to school”
Explaining that his daughter has autism, Arık stressed that the families with autistic children go through the same problems.
“My daughter earned the right to be enrolled into Woman Technical Anatolian High School by examination. We went to school in great excitement, they told us that a special class has been established at Tourism Vocational High School. We accepted and went there, however, school principal said ‘We don’t have infrastructure, I can’t provide classes for normal students and there is no class for these children’. So, the children can be registered to schools but there is no class where they can receive education. There is no teacher even if there is class”.
“Many families with autistic children are obliged to keep their children at home and the children who are registered to schools cannot receive proper education due to lack of necessary infrastructure
