The 4th Legal Chamber of the İstanbul Court of Appeals previously reversed three separate local court rulings that sentenced main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to pay a total of 694 thousand lira in damages to President and ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family over his remarks about the Isle of Man, also known as an offshore tax haven.
197 thousand lira in damages
In the retrial of the case following the reversal of the court of appeals, the court has ruled that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu shall pay 197 thousand lira, around 28 thousand US dollars, to Erdoğan and his relatives in damages.

Speaking at the weekly group meeting of his party on November 28, 2017, CHP Chair Kılıçdaroğlu shared the swift codes and transfer receipts of 15 million dollars allegedly sent by Erdoğan's brother, son, brother-in-law, principal clerk to Isle of Man in 2011 with public.
While Erdoğan said, "Prove it; if you do, I will leave office, but there is no proof," Kılıçdaroğlu submitted the receipts to the prosecutor's office as well.
