The 10-year-old child who was found chained in a burning house in Turkey's western province of Bursa has been placed under state protection by the Child Protection First Response and Evaluation Unit (ÇOKİM).
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), found in a house on fire in Yenişehir, Bursa, the child is now under the protection of the unit affiliated with the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, after the incident happened, the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor and Social Services has got involved in the issue. The expert teams of the Provincial Directorate as well as the teams of the Directorate General of Child Services have also started to closely monitor the issue.
While the 10-year-old child is currently in protection of the ÇOKİM, the necessary measures will remain in effect for the child after the related professional works and efforts for him are concluded.
What happened?
A fire broke out in a detached house in the Neighborhood of Tabakhane in Yenişehir, Bursa. The fire brigade teams found a child chained inside the burning house. Rescued from the fire, the child was taken to the Yenişehir Public Hospital. Father Mehmet B., who chained his son, was detained. (AÖ/SD)
