Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz declared that they would resume the construction of high security check-points.
"Check-point constructions will resume. We will take all measures for the safety of the state and the nation. These measures are not subject to anybody’s approval,” he said.
“Cost of security”
Responding press inquiries at the parliament, Yılmaz said that “being secure is priceless”.
“We will do whatever is necessary to meet security criteria. For security, you don’t need certain things.
“No turning back from security. Being secure is priceless.”
Protests resume
On the other hand, local residents are still protesting the construction.
On Saturday, two demonstrators were killed by soldier gunfire within the high security check-point protests in Lice district.
“Kurdish people will never back against AKP’s preparations for war and massacre,” KCK Executive Co-Chairs said in a statement.
The wave of protests also spilled across Turkey. (YY/BM)
