Cansen Başaran-Symes was elected as the third woman, after Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ and Ümit Boyner, to become the chairperson of TÜSİAD - Turkey’s leading union of Industrialists' and Businessmen.
However only 2 out of 12 board members are women.

No women in 44% of company administrations
According to Independent Women Directors Turkey 2014 report, only 44.1 percent of Turkey’s 422 companies affiliated with BIST (Stocks Istanbul) have women administrators. Among board members, the percentage of women turned out 11.9 percent. (ÇT/BM)
