Prof. Dr. Nejla Kurul, the Chairperson of Eğitim-Sen, who was removed from office at Ankara University with decree (KHK) number 686 during the State of Emergency period, and was reinstated last month, was once again suspended from her position.
The stay of execution ruling was reversed upon the objection of Ankara University, the Education and Science Laborers Union (Eğitim-Sen) announced in a statement that the union issued. Kurul was once again dismissed from the university.
The statement by Eğitim-Sen says, "It way by means of a court ruling that our chairperson Prof. Dr. Nejla Kurul was reinstated at the university. However with the stay of execution granted upon the objection by Ankara University, Kurul was once again dismissed from her position at the university unlawfully.
"We have many of our members in the same situation. Ankara Regional Administrative Court is unlawfully overlooking the decisions by the Constitutional Court, the heavy penal courts and other administrative courts. They even take the liberty of not including any justification for their rulings," the union stated.
The union also declared that the injustices that their members face, imposed on them arbitrarily, still continue but that they will return to their positions under any circumstances and they will call those who are responsible for this unlawfullness to account. (RT/PE)
