Petition has been launched for 78-year-old sick prisoner Sise Bingöl (78), who has been suffering from heart, blood pressure and lung diseases, to be released.
Bingöl was detained and arrested in Varto, Muş on April 6. She was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison on charge of "Willingly and knowingly aiding an illegal organization".
She had a heart attack one month before she entered prison.
Firstly sent to Muş Type E Prison when she was arrested, she was transferred to Tarsus Type T Closed Prison on Ocobter 4, 2017 without informing her family. The administration informed her family a week after the transfer.
The campaign text demanded Bingöl whose health has been worsening be released on probation.
Sick prisoners can apply to courts with their medical reports for their sentences to be deferred.
500 signatures is expected for Sise Bingöl.
According to data by Human Rights Association, there are 1,025 sick prisoners 357 of whom are in critical condition. (AS/TK)
