Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) has issued an urgent call to international institutions for Turkey’s southeastern Mardin’s Kuruköy village, which has not been heard from over 10 days.
HDP Mardin Ali Atalan brought the matter to parliamentary agenda.
Curfews were declared in nine villages in Mardin’s districts of Artuklu, Nusaybin and Ömerli on February 11.
It is claimed that three people were killed, 39 others were detained and the detainees were tortured in Kuruköy village of Nusaybin. The claims can’t be confirmed since the village is under blockade.
The call stressed that the party committee’s not being allowed to enter the village indicates that these claims are true. (NV/TK)
