How and how much do women and LGBTI individuals are covered in the media? What sort of languages is used in news? And most importantly, how is LGBTI and women based journalism practiced?
We have departed to find answers to these questions as part of the project run by IPS Communication Foundation/bianet and supported by KAOS GL. In line with “Gender Based Journalism” project, which has been continuing for two years, we have organized workshops and round-table meetings with the participation of journalists, academics and members from women’s and LGBTI organizations.
On May 14, Monday, we are meeting for our “Gender Based Journalism” conference, which will be realized as the final step of the project.
The conference will be held with the participation of Anna-Klara Bratt, the founder Editor-in-Chief of feministperspective.se Women’s Newspaper, and IPS Communication Foundation Training Advisor Prof. Dr. Sevda Alankuş from Kadir Has University. The conference will be moderated by KAOS GL Media and Communication Program Coordinator Yıldız Tar.
We would like to see you too join us in our event that will be held at Cezayir Meeting Hall at 5:30-9:30 p.m. on May 14, Monday.
There is going to be cocktail after the conference.
English-Turkish and Turkish-English simultaneous translation will be made during the conference.
