A bomb attack has been launched on a police shuttle in Mersin. Allegations that a bomb-laden motorcycle and a bomb in a garbage container was detonated during the passage of the shuttle were reported in the media.
12 police officers were injured in the attack.
Chief prosecutor: Three prosecutors have been assigned
Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor Mustafa Ercan stated that 12 police officers were injured and that the injured were taken to hospitals in different cities. “A large scale investigation has been launched into the incident. We are investigating the cause of the explosion. We’ve assigned three prosecutors to investigate the incident”.
The governor also added that none of the injured are in critical condition. (HK/TK)
