An explosion occurred in the Diyarbakır 3rd Industrial Site in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakır today (March 24).
The blast took place at an auto mechanic's shop, Doğuş Torna, and it was reportedly caused by a gas cylinder. 10 people, including the personnel and the people in the vicinity, have been wounded, five seriously.
As reported by Mezopotamya Agency (MA), the wounded were rescued from the ensuing debris by ambulances and Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) teams and taken to hospitals.
The blast has caused damage both in the shop where it occured and in the workplaces and vehicles in the surrounding area.
The Diyarbakır Governor's Office has also released a statement about the incident and announced that a gas cylinder blast occurred in an auto repair shop in the 3rd Industrial Site in Kayapınar district at around 9.20 am today. The Office has also indicated that 10 citizens have been wounded and five of them have been seriously wounded. The wounded have been reportedly taken to the nearest hospitals and they are still in treatment.
An investigation has been launched into the incident. (RT/SD)
