Gendarmerie forces captured 18 PKK member inmates who tunneled their way out from Bingöl M Type Prison.
Official released a statement early morning, saying that 17 out 18 fugitive inmates were captured in Ortaçanak village - 13 kilometers away from Bingöl Prison.
On the other hand, Hürriyet newspaper’s website claimed that fugitives were captured only 20 kilometers away from PKK bunkers in Karacahennem Forest.
According to Sabah newspaper’s website, drones were operated within a joint investigation of police and gendarmerie authorities.
They were unarmed when captured, said Interior Minister Güler, confirming the capture. He also added that they were looking for one inmate - who was captured later on.
Yesterday morning, a tunnel was discovered after 18 inmates were missing during a roll call in Bingöl M Type Prison. 14 fugitives were convicted of being a PKK member, while the remaining were arrested within a trial for being a PKK member. (YY/BM)
