Binali Yıldırım, the candidate of People's Alliance from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), has made a statement and accused Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has won the elections according to unofficial results, of "confusing people by announcing number of votes."
In the same speech, Yıldırım has himself given numbers.

In the latest statement made by the Republican People's Party (CHP), it has been announced that there is a margin of 18 thousand 742 votes between Ekrem İmamoğlu, the candidate of CHP and İYİ Party, and Binali Yıldırım.
Stating that "There is nothing else to do other than waiting," Yıldırım said,
"The Supreme Election Council (YSK) will manage this whole process. Everything is proceeding in accordance with laws. The margin of votes is gradually narrowing. It would not be right for me to make a statement before the situation becomes clear.
"If they are so sure of themselves, let's count them [votes] so that no one will have any doubts.The margin of votes has fallen to around 18 thousand. We are of the opinion that when the counting is completed, things will change.
'No one has the right to confuse people'
'Our party is following; I do not have any intention to share something in addition to that. The organization of the AK Party is following it.
"I do not know What good it does to share [numbers] before all processes in the districts are concluded. Let the counting and classifications be done; then, it will become clear if we have won or not. No one has the right to confuse or disturb the public in the meanwhile.
"I do not approve unnecessary statements and there is no need for such statements anyway." (PT/SD)
